What is outsourcing?
Simply put, outsourcing is getting a job done from somewhere outside the firm. For example, an US firm getting  a job done from Bangladesh is outsourcing. Why do firms resort to outsourcing? The reasons are many. The most important reason is cost reduction. The same job done in the US is likely to cost five to ten times more than it will cost if done in Bangladesh. The US firm may have to start a new department, invest in man and material, face management hassles, and so on. To avoid all these and reduce cost at the same time the most effect way out is outsourcing.

From Bangladesh point of view outsourcing is job provider for a huge number of the educated unemployed. If you train yourself and acquire right kind of skill you can easily find a job of your choice in the outsourcing market - plenty of them. You will find a number of outsourcing market places - oDesk, Elance, and Freelancer are widely known in Banladesh. There are, of course, others. Of them all, oDesk alone generates more than one lac new jobs every month. Finding a suitable job from this huge number should not be difficult.

How much will you earn?

A featured article in a local computer magazine reported that monthly income of Bangadeshi freelancer roughly ranged between $300 and $3,000. Some exceptionally good freelancers in this country earn about $5,000 a month – even more.
